ARCHITECTURE &
PHILOSOPHY

Hotel ANTIRIDES is a luxury hotel of monasterial architecture, which dictates its presence on the rocks, where you can observe for hours its architectural details that constantly come into view, ready for the game of shadow and light.

Entering the main gate, vaulted arcades that seem like secret passages lead you to open spaces, such as NAVAGIO, ERIPIO and PIGADI, where the skill and art of the monasteries is brought out, imposing and serene.

Bronze inscriptions carved on marble thresholds and carved marble signs predispose you for the exquisite interior spaces that await you, such as EORTINO, PIKILI STOA, KATHIMERINO, and AERINI STOA decorated with marble escutcheons, woodcut furniture and old gravures.

‘‘Watching the rocks raising from the road, above the beach, the icon of a monastery closed off from the outside world, and through the narrow hatches gazing at the gulf and the small port of Naousa, was drawn instinctively in my mind.
However, through the serenity of the soul and of the lifestyle of the monks, I had to go over to the harmonic coexistence of amenities and entertainment, with the austere atmosphere.
The escape exits would be the doors to verandas or terraces, for enjoying the view and the sun, without affecting the dignity of the premise.
The props (antirides) would need to be securely holding the premise on the rocks and embracing it with tenderness…’

That was the concept of the owner- architect Ioannis Daskalopoulos, when he created ANTIRIDES.

So, set off for your wondering around ANTIRIDES.
